Materials & Methods:Thiscross-sectional study was donewith a sample sizeof 151patients inaddiction treatment centersFasaShariati Hospital, during6months.After reviewing thecasesof patients who were takingmethadoneforaddictionandcompletedtheir demographicinformation, check list ofquestionsabout thedifferenteffects ofmethadonewas completedforeachpatient. ThedatawasstatisticallyanalyzedbyMann-Whitneytest.
Results:The averageage of participantsin theschemewas31/71. The resultsshowed thatthe most commonside effects ofmethadone, is gastrointestinalcomplications(77/5percent).In addition, between theeffectsand duration ofmethadonethere is a significantrelationship. However,othereffectswere notassociatedwith duration ofuse.
Conclusion:According to theresults,the need forcontinuousfollow-upof patients undergoingmethadonetreatmentfordrugcomplicationsandsuch findingscan even betransferredtothe relevantauthorities, in order toaddassessmentside effectsof treatmentis necessaryinthe caseofdefined. The patients’need tomedicationmaycause endurance ofbothersome symptoms. Whileit canaffect theirquality of life.
